Everything you need to know about CSCA exam preparation and university admissions
CSCA (来华留学本科入学学业水平测试) is the International Student Undergraduate Admission Academic Proficiency Test organized by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). It evaluates language proficiency and academic foundation for undergraduate studies in China.
CSCA includes: 1) Mathematics (required), 2) Professional Chinese (required for Chinese-medium programs), and 3) Physics/Chemistry (optional, depending on program requirements). Math, Physics, and Chemistry are available in both Chinese and English.
CSCA will organize 5 exams in 2026: January, March, April, June, and December. Check our Exam Dates page for the full schedule and subject timings.
Initially, CSCA is primarily online at-home testing. Offline test centers are gradually being established in key source countries and regions.
Each subject is scored on a 100-point scale. Universities set their own admission requirements based on CSCA scores.
For online tests, results are released in 7 working days. For paper-based tests, results are available in 14 working days.
Check the official CSCA website or contact your target universities' international admissions offices for registration information and requirements.
Check your target universities' requirements: 1) For Chinese Government Scholarship programs: Math + Professional Chinese (plus Physics/Chemistry if required). 2) For other programs: Math (required) + Professional Chinese (if applying to Chinese-medium programs) + optional Physics/Chemistry.
